Four Conrad High School students recently competed in the State Skills USA competition in Havre.
The state competition brings students for Skills USA chapters from around the state to compete in a variety of technical events.
Competing in the Automotive Service Technology segment, Chet Ophus placed 12th while Brad Brenteson took 19th overall.
Competing in Technical Drafting, Karina Moulton placed fourth overall and Andy Springer took fifth in Fundamental Drafting.
A highlight of the first day of competition was that the team of Ophus, Brenteson, Springer and Moulton also took part in the Quiz Bowl where they captured first place.
After competing in a number of preliminary rounds, they were in a three-way face-off in the final round, where they came out with the victory.
The Quiz Bowl contest featured questions from the Skills USA manual, technical content, and current events.
Also attending the competition were Jim Carroll and Dan Brown, technical education instructors at CHS.
