CHS grads pocket over $200,000

    Graduating seniors, 48 of them, garnered a little over $208,000 in awards and scholarships in ceremonies held on Wednesday.
    A Montana University Honor Scholarship of $4,200 per year for an estimated total of $16,800 went to Serena Johnson.
    The Blewett Wrestling award of $1,000 went to Colby Johnson. Courtney DeBoo received the Pam Diedrich Memorial of $500.
Kelsey Carroll, Maria Chalfon, Courtney Ellefsen, Steve Knox and Kristi O’Brien all received First Reformed Church scholarships of $250 each.
    Julie Brown won a Sun River Electric award of $500. The John Bain Memorial went to Brett Durnell for $250. Dusty Jones picked up an FFA Alumni award of $150, and Jaci Thayer was awarded a University of Great Falls Scholarship of $6,500.
    The local Dollars for Scholars awards just keep getting bigger and better each year with over $56,000 in awards and scholarships being handed out.
    Hannah Winters received the Conrad Classified Education Association award of $250. A Special Donor award of $250 went to Amber Keil. A Van Motors Scholarship for $250 went to Megan Sullivan. She also received a $295 Marvin and Vivian Memorial Scholarship.
    A 3 Rivers Communication Scholarship of $250 each went to Freyja Swanson and Michael Spicher. Jana Christensen received the $295 John and Arliss Skipwith award. Ross Bishop took home a Zomer Truck Company and the Chad Durnell Memorial awards, both for $295. Blaine Kaphammer received the Anita Sabbe Gergasko Memorial Scholarship of $300.
    The Conrad Lions Club award of $300 went to Brooke Thompson. Gary and Leo Conrad IGA scholarships of $350 each went out to Amber Keil, Blaine Kaphammer, Kristi O’Brien, Gerald smith, Julie Brown, Colby Johnson, Brendan Gaylord, Jaci Thayer and Kelsey Carroll.
    Pepsi Scholarships of $350 each went out to Amber Keil, Julie Brown, Kelsey Carroll, and Brendan Gaylord. Maria Chalfon, Michael Spicher, Freyja Swanson, and Serena Johnson all received a Stockman Bank Scholarship of $400.
    First Christian Church scholarships of $50 went out to Brooke Thompson and Dustin Stokes. The Gordon and Marjorie Matheson award in Honor of Paula, Nancy and Laurie went to Gerald Smith for $450.
    Courtney Ellefsen received the Conrad Building Center award of $495. The Don Hammer Memorial of $495 went to Serena Johnson. A Pondera Medical Center award of $495 went to Courtney DeBoo.
