Voters in Conrad and Valier will elect council members on Nov. 6.
In Conrad, there are two positions up for election and two candidates have filed for re-election to those positions.
In Ward 2, Lloyd “Sandy” Syvertson filed for the four-year term and Wally McHenry filed for the four-year position in Ward 1.
In Valier, Ward 1, Troy VandenBos has filed for the four-year position.  Ward 2 in Valier, also has one position up for election and three candidates have filed.  Heidi D. Berg, Jack L. Smith and Jerry Sullivan will be on the Nov. ballot for the Ward 2 position.
There will not be a primary election in either Conrad or Valier.  The Nov. 6, General Election will be conducted by mail ballot unless either city requests a polling place election for their residents.
Although the deadline for filing as a candidate has passed, a registered voter can still file for any position as a declared write-in candidate.  The deadline to file as a declared write-in candidate is Aug. 27 at 5 p.m.
If you are thinking of running as a write-in candidate, contact the County Clerk and Recorder’s office, complete and file the forms and let your votes be counted!
The names of declared write-in candidates are not printed on the ballots.
Voters must write in the name on the ballot and check the corresponding box to cast their vote for a write-in candidate.
Interested parties can file as a declared write-in at the office of the Clerk & Recorder at the Pondera County Courthouse.
