Mark your calendars for Dec. 1, and come out to the annual Christmas Stroll. Opening ceremonies will begin at 6 p.m. on the courthouse steps with the invocation being offered by Father Poole of St. Michaels Catholic Church. The winner of the third essay contest will once again assist Santa in lighting the Christmas tree. Stockman Bank has Santa’s rocker all polished up and ready for him to hear the wishes of young and old from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. If the Santa line has got you waiting out in the cold, pop across the street to Wells Fargo to sip some hot chocolate and other goodies. The Home Café will be serving free cinnamon rolls and chili with a food bank donation beginning about 5 p.m. Olson’s Drug has blood pressure and blood sugar testing from 6 – 8 p.m. Downtown merchants will be open with “Stroll” specials until 8:30 p.m. Make sure you stop by each merchant and business. The museum and gift shop will be open at 6 p.m.; in the 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. timeslot, the library will have hot apple cider and piano recitals; the Lions Club will be cooking up those famous “Whoop-Up” burgers in front of Pure Bliss Cycle Sales. Vendors and crafters will be set up at the Moose Lodge as well as the Mall from 4-9 p.m. Still one of the great attractions is the ride around town on a horse drawn cart with several stops along the way. The Chamber of Commerce will be having the “live” Christmas tree auction at Courtesy Ford beginning at 8 p.m. All proceeds go to purchase decorations for Main St. So many great activities to kick start your Holiday Season. See you at the Stroll.
