Be prepared for a fun filled evening on Feb. 27 as the 42nd annual Conrad Area Chamber of Commerce takes center at Norley Hall in Blue Sky Villa. This year the Coaches Corner is catering the gala event, which gets going at 6 p.m. with a no-host social hour and dinner to be served at 7 p.m. The menu will have a main dish of chicken breast with an apple-raisin dressing, creamy mashed potatoes with gravy, brown sugared, glazed carrots, a tossed salad and cheesecake for desert. The Chamber of Commerce is taking a departure from their past speakers of the political persuasion and is having the top rodeo clown in North America, Flint Rasmussen of Choteau as the featured speaker. Rasmussen says, “I’m really excited about coming to Conrad and speaking at the annual Chamber dinner.”
He’s Tops -- Flint Rasmussen, North America’s Number One Rodeo Clown. Admittedly, for the man who has been named the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association Clown of the Year seven times since 1996, speaking to 200 people is vastly different than being chased around by a one-ton bull (or more) in an arena jam packed with screaming fans. Not only on our side of the border, but in Canada as well, he has been named the Canadian National Finals Rodeo Barrelman four times. The entertainer was in a rock band in high school, but tried his hand at teaching, both history and math, before being drawn into dancing, singing and running away from angry bulls for a living. In addition on Tuesday the Unsung Hero will be unveiled and the Business Person of the Year will be announced. For more information or tickets, contact any CofC board member or Shari Richter at the CofC office in the Stockman Drive up Bank. You may call her at the office, (406) 271-7791.
