Conrad to host district legion baseball tourney |

 CARDINAL TEAM – The American Legion Tri-County Cardinals baseball team and Conrad will be hosting a district tournament July 24-27 with eight teams from the region and Canada coming to town. From Cut Bank there is Joey Hallenberg, Michael Shea, Alex Macias and Orin Johnson; from Choteau there is Chet Pannabecker; from Shelby, Matt Alford and Jake Robison; from Brady, Riley Styren; from Sunburst there is John Johannsen; from Kevin, Jade Premo; and from Conrad, Bjorn Swanson, Colby Johnson, Nick Pruttis, Justin Philipps, Brent Bandow; and from Ledger, David Ratzburg.
Their next game in Conrad was supposed to be June 17 against the Great Falls Stallions in a double header. However the home field was still too wet from recent rains and it was shifted to the Falls.
The team heads out to Libby June 20-22 for a tournament. They then play back-to-back double header games against the Great Falls Sparkies June 24 in Conrad with the first pitch being tossed at 3 p.m. and June 25 in Great Falls at the Don Olson Field with game time also at 3 p.m. June 27-29 is a tournament in Lewistown.
Three games the Cardinals were to play in Canada were rained out. The Lethbridge game is rescheduled for July 1. The other two games have not been rescheduled at this time.
The Tri-County Cardinals will be hosting the District Tournament in Conrad July 24 – 27.
Eight teams will be heading to our area for this tournament (Ft. McLeod, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Vauxhall from Canada; and Havre NorthStars, Great Falls Sparkies, Great Falls, Stallions and Tri-County Cardinals) and could be in our community for lodging and meals.
