Helped by eight forfeits by Cut Bank on Thursday evening Conrad embarrassed the Wolves in a dual meet, 75-3.
The Cowboys did get six matches on the mat and won five of them.
Bryce Gernaat, 112, won his match on points 11-8, Johnny Schlosser, 119, won with a pin in 3:13, Logan Erickson, 140, had a pin-win in 3:01, Austin Breding, 160, did the same in 3:04, Trent Knox, 171, hardly broke open a sweat, getting a pin-win in :37.
Aaron Lehnerz, 189, took the lone loss for the Cowboys, suffering a close 6-4 defeat.
Jaren VanDyke, Kyle Judisch, Scott Schlosser, Jared Giard, Colby Johnson, Andrew Lehnerz, Bryce Watterud, and J.D. Hough all got their hands raised for a forfeit win.
Then over the weekend they were in Great Falls for what may be the premiere-wrestling event in the state, other than the state championship tourney in Billings in February.
There were 46 teams hitting the mats in the Electric City. When the last match was over, Conrad had an eighth place team finish. The only Class B team ahead of them was Glasgow (4th), last’s defending state champions. The Blue Ponies (Class A) from Havre ran away from everyone to capture the title.
    The top 10 teams and scores went like this: 1. Havre 256; 2. CMR 220; 3, Great Falls High 3. 205; 4. Glasgow 174: 5. Billings Skyview 159; 6. Bozeman 133; 7. Ronan 128.5; 8. Conrad 126.5; 9. Billings Seniors 92 and 10. Belgrade 81.
Friday the Cowboys got some big wins to help position them in sixth place at the end of the day.
Jaren VanDyke (98) got a pin-win in 1:05. Bryce Gernaat (112) took a big decision win, 12-0 and Scott Schlosser (119) pinned his man in 1:22.
