Page 1 of 2 READY FOR THE SNAP – The Cowboy defensive line is ready to move into action against Choteau in the Friday night contest. Conrad came on to win the game 14-6. Jeff Jerome is the right tackle, Andy Springer is the left tackle, Luke Weisgram is the nose tackle, the defensive end is Seab Larson , Scott Schlosser is the cornerback. I-O Photo by Buck Traxler Cowboy senior Lane Judisch was all over the field on Friday, both on offense and defense and paced the team to a huge 14-6 win over Choteau in Class B football action. The victory evened their record to 2-2 overall, but more important, the win made them 1-0 in conference play, tied at the top of the leader board with Shelby. Conrad got all the scoring they would need in the first period. The ‘Dawgs kicked off and a bad kick gave Conrad good field position at the 35 yard line. Six plays later, Judisch gathered in a short pass from quarterback Josiah Moerkerke came around the left end and danced down the sidelines for an 11 yard catch-and-run TD. In between, there was a swing pass to Judisch for nine yards, a run up the middle by Austin Breding for eight yards, a short QB-keeper by Moerkerke, and a pass to Riley Styren for 11 yards. Brent Bandow, back after having a broken leg in a summer flag football game, tried the PAT, but it was blocked and Conrad led 6-0. Bandow was also seeing duty on kickoffs. On their first possession, Choteau began at the 25-yard line and put together a 10-play drive but eventually, a blocking penalty forced them to punt. Junior Eric Norby pulled in the kick, found a line of Cowboy blockers and raced back to the Choteau 34 yard line, on a 40-yard return. It only took three plays to take the ball home. Judisch, on a third and nine play got around the corner on a sweep play, kicked in the afterburners and flew down the sideline for a 33-yard TD run. Breding bulled in for the two point PAT and Conrad led 14-0 with 4:19 to play in the first quarter. Two possessions, two TDs. In the second quarter, the Cowboys put together a nifty 11 play drive and looked to be headed in for a score, but a Moerkerke pass was picked off at the 11 yard line and the Choteau defender ran the ball back 40 yards before Judisch made a TD saving tackle.
