Conrad suffered a big loss in their first game of the New Year, falling to Fairfield 65-33 on
Thursday.
The Cowgirls dropped in their first three shots of the game and at quarter’s end, trailed by one point 11-12.
The second stanza turned into a nightmare with the Eagles going on a 23-5 run. Down the stretch, they outscored the Cowgirls 30-19 to seal the deal.
Lindsey Green and Katie Schlepp each banged in 10 points to lead the team in scoring.
Cassie Peters sliced the nets for eight markers, Kylee Schlepp hit for six and Jenny Silvernale had a free throw to round out the scoring.
The Cowgirls took 35 shots from the floor but connected on just 13 of them. They were 8-18 at the line.
The Eagles fired at the rim 65 times from the floor and connected on 26 of those. They were also 11-19 from the stripe.
Friday the Choteau Bulldogs came up for a contest and probably wished they had stayed at home by the time the game was over, as the Cowgirls crushed the Bulldogs, 67-33.
Conrad opened the game with an 8-0 run and led 14-6 with Green, Silvernale, and Katie Schlepp all shaking the nets for four points each, while Kylee Schlepp added a pair of freebies from the line.
One of Green’s scores came off a nifty pass from Anna Pearson, cross-court to the 5-11 senior, who was under the basket for an easy lay in. Silvernale’s second score came on a second effort off her own rebound. The home girls led 27-16 at the break.
The second half was all Conrad. Green scored 11 of her 22 points in the third frame leading the Cowgirls on a 20-8 run.
One of her scores came when Cassie Peters intercepted an inbounds pass and dished to Green who then sank her shot. Another highlight bucket came off a steal by Katie Schlepp who glided home for the score.
Conrad came to outscore Choteau 20-9 in the fourth period, coasting to a 67-33 win.
Green bumped in 22 points to lead all scorers. Katie Schlepp hit the boards for 16 markers.
Kaytlin Fowler went to the store for eight points, Silvernale hit for six, Pearson added four, Peters the same, Samantha Fagan put up three, Beth Grubb hit for two and Barringer the same.
The Cowgirls scored on 26 shots from the floor and were just deadly at the line, going 15-17.
The Bulldogs scored on 14 shots from the field and managed only to hit on only 5-15 shots from the stripe.
Saturday, in an early game, the Cowgirls opened up a 31-17 lead over Harlem and led by the break,  sailing to a 66-48 win over the Wildcats.
Katie Schlepp knocked down a pair of treys on her way to scoring 10 points in the period and 16 in the game. Green cashed in for 12 markers. Peters was in double figures with 10 points, lighting up the board with eight scores in the third frame.
Fowler scored eight, Pearson four, Grubb two and Barringer knocked down a buzzer-beater-bucket to round out the scoring.
Conrad does not play at home until Jan. 26 when Cut Bank comes to town.
