Tuesday the JV and Varsity teams were in Shelby for an 18-hole tourney. The Cowboys came on to capture second shooting a 339, 20 strokes behind Shelby and one ahead of Cut Bank. The JV boys were in second, behind Shelby. Conrad brought only three girls so they couldn’t post a team score. Johnson of Cut Bank was in first with an 87. Jessica Waldner of Cut Bank had second with a 92. Schlepp placed third with an 87, Peters was in fourth with a 100 and Spicher had eighth at 104. On the boys’ side, Judisch fired a one under par 71 to take medalist honors. Gage tied Coryell for fifth with an 82. Other Conrad scores saw Orcutt come home with a 94, Brenteson shot a 95, Converse 92, Ellis 93, O’Brien 110, Offerdal 102 and Doug Peters 115. On May 2, the varsity was in Shelby and the JV team in Cut Bank. Gage led the pack shooting a 74. Judisch tied for seventh with an 81. Orcutt put together an 87, Brenteson carded a 91, and Ellis shot 95. The Cowboys placed second with a 333 total. Fairfield placed first at 325, Shelby was in third at 338 and Cut Bank fourth 344. Waldner took the girl’s title with an 84. Spicher led the Cowgirls with 95, good for fourth place, Peters was in sixth with a 97, Silvernale was seventh with a 99, King shot 105, and Schlepp 106. Team scores and places went like this: Cut Bank 393, Conrad 396, Fort Benton 421, Harlem 455, and Fairfield 491. Friday in a JV meet, Conrad tied for third out of nine teams in Cut Bank. Converse shot a 95, Offerdal 99, O’Brien 99, and Peters 103. Team scores had Sunburst at 351, Cut Bank 363, Conrad 396, Fairfield 396. No Conrad players posted a score in the top 10. Saturday the varsity was back in Cut Bank. The girls placed first with a 389-team score. Fort Benton was second 403, then Cut Bank 414, and Fairfield 449. Waldner took medalist honors with a 90. Close behind in a three-way tie for 2nd-3rd-4th were Marne LaBrel of Cut Bank, Peters and Schlepp with 93s. Silvernale put together a round of 95 for fifth and Spicher posted a 107. On the boys’ side, it was Gage, carding a fine 74 to bring home medalist honors. Judisch and Brian Hasquet of Shelby tied for second place with 76s. Orcutt was in the top 10 with an 82. Ellis shot an 88, Brenteson 94, and Converse 92. Team scoring went like this: Shelby 316, Conrad 320, Cut Bank 332, Fort Benton 350, and Fairfield 369. The state golf tournament is in Bozeman May 13-14.
