    The Annual Small Grains Cropping Seminar will be held in Conrad on Jan. 8 at the Conrad Community Center, 106 S. Delaware.  
Registration will began at 8:30 a.m. and the seminar will start at 9 a.m.
    The speakers for the seminar include Dr. Grant Jackson, Professor, Nutrient Management in Agricultural Cropping Systems, Western Triangle Research Center.  
    He will discuss fertilizers and fertilizer amendments. This presentation will assist producers make better fertilizer management decisions given our current fertilizer and commodity prices.
    Dr. Greg Kushnak, Superintendent, Western Triangle Research Center, will review the current information on new varieties, the varietal test plot results, and his planting date study.
    Kevin Johnson, Centrol, will discuss management tools for Cheatgrass and post-harvest weed management.
    Tom Allen, MSU Liberty County Agent, will review research on fertilizer placement.  He will also be asking for feedback from producers on ideas of research projects for the new Cropping Systems Specialist, Kent McVay.
    Dan Picard, MSU Pondera County Agent, will present information on cropland insects including the Haanchen Mealy Bug, Orange Blossom Wheat Midge, and wireworm.
    There will be four (4) Private Applicator Credits available for producers.  
    No pre-registration is required and everyone is invited to attend.  For more information contact the Pondera County Extension Office at 271-4054.
