PITCHER’S BUDDY – Trae Pruttis prepares to take in a toss from Johnny Schlosser to turn a double play in action against the Hawks. Photo courtesy of Brian Robinson Conrad showed they have the ability to play with anybody. The team had a solid game against Great Falls on Monday. Coach Pruttis commented, “That’s what we’ve been looking for out of these kids. Now all we need to do is polish the product and continue to work hard and everything should take care of itself.” The Dirtbags were led in hitting by the Schlosser brothers, Johnny and Luke while Devin VandenBos pitched four solid innings. Trae Pruttis had several good plays at second base along with a solid game from catcher Ryan Orcutt. Winning Pitcher: D. VandenBos. Hitting Stats: J. Schlosser 4-4, L. Schlosser 3-3, Orcutt 1-4 (2B), B. Watterud 1-4, T. Pruttis 1-2, D. VandenBos 0-3, J. Ratzburg 1-2 (2B), S. Diedrich 0-1, S. Slezak 2-2, A. Zomer 1-2. The team has a tough challenge on Saturday when they travel to Lewistown, “who has always been known to have a hot bed for baseball talent. These are the towns we need to play to improve our program,” says Pruttis. Both coaches feel that “The fans are a large part of our success so far and the kids really feed off the crowds that are starting to show up on game day.”
