Brady-Dutton Easter Services
    The Brady and Dutton United Methodist Churches will be holding a joint Maundy Thursday service on March 20, at the Dutton United Methodist Church at 6 p.m. The service will begin with a soup supper followed by communion.  Sunday, March 23, the Easter morning service will be at the usual worship time of 9:15 a.m. at the Brady church. Everyone is invited to attend both services.
Easter breakfast to benefit trip
    Pondera Valley Lutheran Church women will hold a break­fast immediately following the 9 a.m. Easter service on March 23. Breakfast will be served from 10-11 a.m. A free will offering will be collected.
    Proceeds will benefit six Devon area quilters hoping to raise $6,000 for a mission trip to Africa. Funds raised will be used to purchase sewing supplies, machines and fabric. The women will travel to Africa and hold quilting sessions with locals.
    The breakfast will include baked eggs, muffins, coffee cake, sweet rolls, juice, coffee and tea. The event is open to all.
The Holy Week at Pondera Valley, Golden West
    There will be a joint worship service on Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m. at Pondera Valley Lutheran Church, on the corner of 6th & Delaware.  The drama “The Upper Room” will be presented as well as traditional music and Holy Communion.
On Friday, there will be two contemplative services: 5:30 p.m. at Pondera Valley and 7 p.m. at Golden West, 23 miles east of town on the Sollid Road.
    Easter morning services will be at 9 a.m. at Pondera Valley followed by a breakfast for everyone and Golden West will begin with a waffle breakfast at 9 a.m. and the worship service at 11 a.m.  The services will include Holy Communion and special music.  Visitors are always welcome!
Community Good Friday Service
    A Community Good Friday Service will be offered by the Conrad Ministerial Association March 21, from 12:05 to 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, corner of Fourth Avenue and Maryland.
    Conrad area pastors will join together to offer a worship service on the occasion of Good Friday, the day Christ was crucified.  The service will include prayer, the reading of the passion of Christ from the Gospel of John, special music by Katey VanderVeen, and the preaching of the Word.  Pastor Jeff Redlin of Pondera Valley Lutheran Church will give the sermon.
    Other ministers participating in the service will be Pastor Peter Wetendorf of the Conrad Mission Church, Pastor Charlie Clifton of the Conrad Baptist Church, Pastor Reese VanderVeen of the Conrad Christian Reformed Church, and Rev. Kirk Kestler of First Presbyterian Church.
Last Supper, Presbyterian Church Easter Services
    On Maundy Thursday, March 20, the Presbyterian Church will offer “The Living Last Supper” in a church service beginning at 7:30 p.m.  The last supper of Jesus and his disciples will be reenacted in the church sanctuary followed by the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.  Each of the twelve disciples will speak, giving their unique perspective on events leading up to Jesus’ announcement of his betrayal.  This will be an opportunity to experience the last supper of Jesus with his disciples in a fresh and deeply spiritual way.  All are invited.  The Presbyterian Church is located at the corner of Fourth and Maryland in Conrad.
    The joy of Easter will be celebrated at First Presbyterian Church in Conrad at an 11 a.m. Easter Sunday worship service on March 23.  The choir will present the anthem, Sing We Alleluia and a special soloist and choir arrangement of Amen.  Rev. Kestler’s sermon will be entitled, “While It Was Still Dark.”  The community is invited to come and celebrate the joy of the resurrection of our Jesus Christ at First Presbyterian Church, on the corner of Fourth Avenue and Maryland in Conrad.
