    Janie McFarland and Cheryl Schlepp, Career and Technical Educators from Conrad High School, were among the 200 attendees at the Montana Association for Career and Technical Education’s (ACTE) Fall Leadership Conference.
    The meeting was held in Bozeman and offered dozens of educational sessions designed to instruct educators on the latest developments in career and technical education, including sessions on technology, career pathways for high school students, and personal growth.
    At the conference McFarland was elected President of the Montana Business and Information Technology Educators (MBITE). Schlepp s a past-president of Montana Association of Family and Consumer Science Educators (MAFSCE).
    This year’s theme, Big Sky Pathways: From Vision to Action, included secondary and post-secondary instructors in career and technical education coming together in the development of Big Sky Pathways, a seamless transition for Montana’s students.
    Career and technical education encompasses a broad curriculum of knowledge and sills that provides students with the academic and technical skills necessary to succeed in today’s workforce.
    The Association for career and Technical Education is the national professional association for the field of career and technical education.
    Now in its 82nd year, ACTE’s membership numbers more than 30,000 teachers, counselors and administrators at the middle school, high school and post-secondary levels.
