Greg Jensen begins career Prairie View

A popular fixture from Meadowlark School is leaving the campus.

However, after having 26 years of second grade students under his belt, the Havre native will be moving only about a mile away to the newly re-opened Prairie View School (PVS).
Greg Jensen received his Masters degree from Northern in Havre and an Administration degree for MSU-Bozeman.
He taught for two years in Poplar before dropping into Conrad.
“I’m 110 percent in favor of re-opening PVS,” Jensen said on Friday. “It will be great to have students back and utilize even a portion of the building.”
He noted that having the fifth grade in the UMS Middle School just didn’t work out. They were up in a corner and never had an identity, being lost among the sixth, seventh and eighth grade classes.
“This will be ‘their’ building in a sense,” he says. He went on to note about the fourth grade, that this will be the largest class, but here, “We can give them special attention.”
As he talks about wanting to be a part of the re-opening at PVS, one can feel his excitement as the time comes close to opening the doors to students and his being a first-time administrator.
He is quick to add, “I’ll always be a teacher,” and to that end, he will wear two hats at PVS, also being a Title I teacher. “I’ll have the best of two worlds,” he says.
He feels communication is huge in being both an administrator and a teacher and he looks forward to being a part of the students and instructors day.
“I can hardly wait to welcome the students back,” he adds.
He is married to Joan Jensen, an officer at Stockman Bank and the couple has two daughters, Tara and Tia. Both went through the Conrad school system.
