Plans and preparation are underway for the Grizzly Day Celebration to be held in Dupuyer on Aug. 2.
Many of the traditional activities will take place including a pancake breakfast at the fire hall to get the day rolling right. The Grand Dupuyer Parade begins at 11 a.m. and will include antique tractors, modern tractors, classic and antique autos, old-time-machinery, floats from businesses in the area and even some special floats of interwst to spectators and of course the riding units.
Parade entries are not judged, but three cash prizes are offered.
Each unit can enter their name  in the drawing to be held right after the parade.
For further information about the parade or entering a float, contact Robert or Ali Newkirk at 472-3388.
A favorite of everyone is the Duck Race and the greased pig Calcutta and for everyone’s listening pleasure there will be music in the center of town all day long.
There are always games for kids and adults including horseshoe and ATLatl. There are also some new activities in the works.
Becky and John Rappold and Rita and Joe Christiaens will chair the event this year.
If you have additional ideas or would like to volunteer to assist with the celebration, contact them.
In the meantime, pencil in Aug. 2 on your calendar for a fun day in Dupuyer.
