Sage Yeager, the 16-month old son of Karlee and Greg Yeager of Helena, has suffered from seizures since he was born.
Medication has not been able to control the seizures completely so his parents are taking him to Denver later this month for complex testing and possible surgery.
Greg and Karlee are 2005 graduates of Conrad High School. He is a student at the UofM-Helena College of Technology and works part-time for UPS and Lowe’s. Karlee has her hands full caring for their son at home.
His paternal grandparents, Janice and Don Yeager, work in the Conrad School system.
Students and staff at all four Conrad schools have pitched in to raise funds by paying $1 to wear a hat all day on three Fridays.
From CHS, $800.09 was raised. At Utterback Middle School, students raised $614.25 while students at both Prairie View and Meadowlark schools combined to add $1,792.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will match up to $1,000 to help cover the family’s expenses for the trip and their stay in Denver.
Sage’s maternal grandparents are Lisa Campbell and the late Nick Campbell of Conrad and Neil and Bernice Burdett of Helena.
