Shorter days and cooler nights mark the first part of the fall season and to go along with that, Homecoming activity got underway at the high school.
During the week, students began the voting process for Homecoming King and Queen.
The Senior candidates are Lane Judisch and Katie Schlepp. The Junior candidates are Scott Schlosser and Kelsey Zomer.
Sophomore candidates are Justin Prewett and Jerrica Harris and the Freshman Class is represented by Brent Bandow and Heather Newmiller.
Monday kicked off with the students dressing up as Rock Stars or “Gangstas”.
The halls are lined with spirited decorations revving up the students for a week of special activity.
On Tuesday the students went from Rock Stars to Redneck and Hicks. Wednesday was Theme Day where they were directing victories and acting like the winners they are.
Thursday is Fictional Character Day with the students looking like their favorite character.
Friday is still the tradition day with everyone dressed in the school colors of Red and White. Spirit night will be held at the track field at 7 p.m.
Saturday is the “Big Day” at CHS!
Floats will be lined up and judged early with the Pep Assembly starting in the CHS gym at 9 a.m. The public is always invited to attend and see the wild and whacky skits put on by students and faculty.
Right at the end of the assembly, the King and Queen candidates will be presented and the King and Queen announced.
The parade will get going shortly after 10 a.m.
At 1 p.m. the Cowboys and Cut Bank Wolves will get together for some football.
At halftime, the Homecoming King and Queen and their court will be introduced and spirit winner, floats and hall decoration winners will be announced.
The Booster Club will put on their annual barbecue right after the football game.
At 4:15 p.m., earlier than usual, the Cowgirl varsity volleyball squad will hit the courts and snare the Coyotes of Shelby.
Following the volleyball match, the Homecoming dance will take place in the CHS commons. Happy feet will take to the floor from 9:30 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Fall is in the air; it must be time for Homecoming!
