The Board of Trustees for the Pondera Medical Center announced on Friday that Bruce Porter has resigned his position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In a written statement, Porter stated that he is regretful for this decision but due to family and personal reasons, he must step down at this time. Porter came to the PMC in September of last year and during his tenure here the trustees feel he has made many positive changes and contributions. Porter had nothing but positive things to say about the PMC and the staff. He is confident, as is the board, that with many of the recent changes that have been made and the direction the hospital has been led into, the PMC will continue to be a successful and prosperous organization. Porter also went on to add, “That this community is very lucky to have such a wonderful medical facility with so many dedicated employees. In today’s world with financial reimbursement it is so critical for a rural facility to have the full support of their community and the PMC is fortunate to have that support and backing.” In addition to his resignation, the trustees also announced the resignation of Christi Porter as the Risk Management Manager. Porter and the board of trustees are confident that with the recent appointment of Mary Erickson, RN, MSM, to the administrative staff, the PMC will continue to have an effectively run Quality Assurance and Risk Management Program, with a huge focus on ensuring that the hospital provides quality care to the community and having continual focus on patient safety.
