Hospital announces resignation of Dr. Dodge |

Page 1 of 2 By Buck Traxler, I-O Editor At the Conrad Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Wednesday, Mack Simpson, CFO/Pondera Medical Center announced that Dr. Jennifer Dodge has submitted her resignation. The resignation is effective Dec. 31. In a short letter to the PMC, Dr. Dodge wrote that an opportunity in Helena had been offered that she couldn’t pass up. She also has family in the capital city. In other news from the hospital, the remaining portion of the clinic remodeling has begun. The project has an estimated cost of $71,000. A completion date of Jan. 15 is expected. He noted that September was a slow month for the PMC, but patient activity picked back up in October. Principal Craig Barringer gave the school district report, noting that a facilities committee is looking into ways to begin upgrades in the high school. He also announced that CHS would be hosting a Speech and Drama competition at both CHS and Meadowlark schools over the weekend. CofC president Gerald Miller said that the Harvest Festival 50-50 raffle ticket, number 251919, was still unclaimed and if anyone knew who might be holding it, to have them call the Chamber (271-7791) to claim their prize. Mayor John Shevlin reported that the city is getting ready for winter. The sprinklers are in at Legion Park, they just needed to be connected. He too, noted that the new garbage truck that was ordered by the city might be here sooner than expected. He cautioned, “This will be an education.” Commissioner Sandy Broesder said the county has hired new engineers for the upcoming pavement project at the airport. “One of the nice things about them,” she said, “is they are all pilots.” Through the Pondera County Health Department, they are working are a grant to service multi-counties on the education and danger of “Binge Drinking.”
