When all the cards were in and signed on Tuesday, it was senior Cowboy Lane Judisch who led the pack at the state Class B golf tournament in Bozeman.
Judisch saved his best round of the season for the opening round, three under par 33-35 68 at the Cottonwood golf course.
That round put Judisch one stroke ahead of two-time defending champion Gordon Webb of Malta. The Mustang senior came home with a 33-36 69 over the par 71 course setting the stage for a super match for top medalist honors on Wednesday.
Other scores from the Cowboy squad saw Nate Gage fashion a round of 42-44 86 and Rhett Orcutt match that with a consistent tour of the course, 43-43 86.
Brad Brenteson shot a 99 and Kyle Ellis came home with a 101.

While the weather was nice on the first day, Wednesday was cold and rainy and less than ideal for playing, let alone decent scoring.
Nevertheless the less, Webb came on to play a steady round and came in with a one under par round of 70-139 to win his third straight Class B title. First day leader, Judisch, carded a 79-147 and was in second place for the tournament.
