Saturday the UMS matmen were in Fairfield for their divisional meet.
Conrad had 22 wrestlers for the match. When the dust had cleared, UMS wrestlers came home with a second place trophy.
Coach Kevin Moritz commented, “Even though we got second, it was still a good season.” He went on to add, “Most of the 22 wrestlers are underclassmen and will be back next year. There were only six eighth graders on the team.”
The Buckaroos came back with four first places, five seconds, and five fourth places.
The top four teams and places went like this: Choteau 201, Conrad 174, Fairfield 103, Shelby 99, followed by Vaughn, Fort Benton, Cascade, C-JI, Cut Bank, Valier, East Glacier, Belt and Browning.
Individual results for Conrad show the tournament record and place, the school record for the season and for the eight graders, their overall UMS record.
