Wednesday, 17 January 2007
After an absence of nearly four years, the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) is coming back to Conrad.
With the help of the Pondera Arts Council (PAC) the Theatre will give two performances of The Little Mermaid on Feb. 17 in the Meadowlark School gym
The Missoula Children’s Theatre presents an exciting, unique opportunity for students from grade K-12 to perform in a live stage production.
All costumes, scenery, props and makeup will be provided by the Missoula Children’s Theatre.
The cast, about 50-60 roles, will be chosen from local students.
Auditions for all roles will be held Feb. 12, immediately after school in the Meadowlark gym.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre is the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre. It has been touring extensively for more than 30 years from Montana to Japan, and will visit nearly 1,100 communities this year with 32 teams of tour actor/directors.
The Theatre’s mission is the development of life skills in children through participation in the performing arts.
All shows are original adaptations of classic children’s stories and fairytales.
Based in Missoula, the Theatre also runs many local programs, including musical theatre day camps and performing arts classes for local children, a summer residency performing arts camp for students from around the world and the MCT Community Theatre, which creates an arena for local talent of all ages to participate in large-scale productions.
