The purpose of the committee is to look at and update old codes on the books.
After a brief discussion, the council moved, on a 4-0 vote, to revoke a conditional use permit of Brian Heath for being in violation of conditions of his permit.
Council also gave the Okay for the American Legion Post #37 to have a fireworks permit for the purpose of selling fireworks.
There was also discussion on a request from the Conrad Mission Church. They are requesting closure of Ave. C for the purpose of landscaping the area. The church would also like to add a playground for children and a pavilion.
Public Works Director Anderson told the council he didn’t have a problem with the closing as long as they didn’t build anything over an existing sewer line. “In a way, it would spruce up the area,” he said.
The council took no action. The matter will be turned over to city attorney Mary Ann Ries to work out details and then come back to the council.
Mayor Shevlin read a proclamation for Municipal Clerks Week, April 29 – May 5, and praised the city clerks, saying, “They make my job a whole lot easier, we have the best in the state.”
Brandi Beecher of Bear Paw Development Corporation of Northern Montana was on hand to present information  on CREBS (Clean Renewable Energy Bonds). She brought a resolution, but no action was taken at this time.
The next regular meeting of the council will be May 21, 7:30 p.m. in city hall, 411 ½ S. Main.
