    Cheryl Curry of Valier, the executive director of the P.A., was in support of the project, saying, “The economic development project could add millions of dollars to the economy and tax revenue will help with growth. I’m in support of the project.”
    The number of employees that would be hired is unknown at this time; however, the estimated wages for such personnel is expected to be in the $25 per hour range.
    Depending on the alternative plan chosen, if approved, the property tax benefit estimates range from a low of $1,038,970 to a high of $1,182,684 for Pondera County, making it by far the big winner in tax benefits over Cascade, Glacier and Teton counties.
    Public meetings followed in Cut Bank and Great Falls. Interested individuals still have until April 9 to make comments on the proposed line.

    Bob Williams of the MATL told the I-O after the meeting, “We’re hoping to start construction this summer.”
    According to him the company is buying easements as well as offering annual payments to landowners for each pole on their property.
    If approved, the project would take about six months to complete.
