    The New Year of 2007 ushered in the swearing in of county officials for their respective offices and they included Tom Kuka Sheriff, County Attorney Mary Ann Ries, Superintendent of Schools Jo Stone, Public Administrator Bill May, Commissioner Cyndi Johnson, Clerk and Recorder Janice Hoppes, Justice of the Peace Audrey Brown, Treasurer Jeanne Moon and Clerk of Court Kara Thompson.
    Mother Nature was at her best with snow on the ground and clear skies bringing cold temperatures and picture-like frost on trees.
    The New Year baby, Hailey Dawn Habets came into the world on Jan. 4 at 12:06 a.m. Dr. Peter Barran delivered her. She is the daughter of Dawn Habets of Shelby.
    The Conrad Lions Club announced they were moving the date of Whoop-Up Trail Days Celebration to the month of June.  The major northcentral Montana event had been a fixture on the “third weekend in May.”
    The Schlosser brothers, Scott and Jacob along with Colby Johnson were wrestling champions at the Cut Bank Invitational.
    The Cowgirl basketball squad bumped their early season record to 8-0 with wins of Choteau and Fairfield.
    Sen. Max Baucus was in Conrad for a listening session at a packed Norley Hall, getting input for a new Farm Bill.
    After an absence of nearly four years, the Missoula Children’s Theatre was returning to Conrad for a February performance.
    Students in Brady were trying to earn money for a Teen Center. PMC/CEO Jim Christensen was appointed Fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives.
    IN FEBRUARY, it was announced that Chad Hoggan, age 13, had qualified for the Junior Olympic championships in the air rifle event.
    The Cowboy wrestlers were in pursuit of a sixth straight divisional tournament, which they captured. The Cowgirl basketball team was 6-0 in conference play and 13-1 overall.
    Front Line Ag held John Deere Day. Andrew Hilyard, a CHS student, was in Hollywood competing in the International Model and Talent Association convention.
    City policemen Mike Galloway and Travis Alexander and Water/wastewater Operator Tobin Arnold submitted resignations to the City of Conrad.
