![]() CLOSE CALL This late model Toyota Camry, driven by Clayton Calf Boss Ribs, crashed through a fence on Thursday evening and came to rest just touching a major gas line to Conrad in the substation at the corner of 2nd Ave. NW and Wisconsin. I-O Photo by Buck Traxler The gas substation is located on the corner of 2nd Ave. NW and Wisconsin. The Camry, driven by Clayton Calf Boss Ribs, 23, of Heart Butte went out of control on 2nd Ave., hit a curb, narrowly missing a parked pickup truck and a telephone pole. It continued forward, airborne and the nose of the vehicle went on through the base of the chain link fence between two support poles. It just missed one pipeline and came to rest against another gas line that serves Conrad. The Montana Highway Patrol, city police and two sheriff’s deputies were at the scene of the accident. Calf Boss Ribs was detained and arrested for DUI. Other charges may be pending. Investigating officer for the MHP, Mark Wilfore, commented, “This could have been a bad one.” Jerry Christensen, area supervisor for NorthWestern Energy told the I-O that if he had got into the plumbing, Conrad would have been shut down for a couple of days and at least 50 guys would have had to come in to shut down gas lines going to residents and then fix the problem. “This could have been major,” he said.
