Submitted to the I-O by Lori Pocock-Sebben Once again, the 2011 PMC Community Health Fair and Sports Physical Clinic was a huge success. The fair was very well attended by the community and vendors. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints graciously donated the use of their church and grounds and they had someone present at the church for two entire days; days that begin early in the morning and end late in the afternoon. Pondera Medical Center is very fortunate and grateful for the opportunity to use the spacious church, which is large enough to accommodate all the vendors, registration area, rooms for the lab draws, sports physicals registration and exams, and the kitchen is available for use for the entire event. The church parking lot has room enough for all the vendors and visitors to park and for Mercy Flight to land and exhibit their remarkable aircraft. In addition, the church provides use of their tables and chairs and many other items belonging to the church. On day one, the PMC Engineering department takes extra tables and other necessary items to the church, sets up the tables and chairs, vendor signs, wall posters and prepares the individual rooms for the fair. On day two, following the end of the event, the PMC Engineering department and PMC employee volunteers reverse the set-up process, load everything to be returned to PMC, clean up the kitchen, dump the trash, vacuum the floors and whatever else is necessary to return the church, hopefully, to the condition it was in prior to all of us descending upon it for the health fair.
Vendors in attendance kindly donated gift baskets and certificates that were given away to community members in random drawings during the fair. The lucky winners of the gift baskets or certificates were: Tom Shepherd - Camouflage Cooler donated by KRMC Jean Duncan - Gift Basket donated by KRMC Helen Elliott - Gift Basket donated by KRMC Buck Traxler - First Aid Kit donated by American Red Cross Dale Breding - Massage donated by Hi-Line Massage Jeanne Moon - Massage donated by Hi-Line Massage Carolyn Salinsky - Massage donated by Hi-Line Massage Alice Kestler - Christmas Basket donated by AARP Chary Majerus - Gift Bag donated by Mountain View Access & Mobility Melvin Parocai – Bread Gift Bucket donated by Retired Senior Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.) The PMC Health Fair would not be the event it is without the church, community, vendors, employees and volunteers.
