![]() Children not included The little pink pedal tractor and wagon is one of the many prizes set up for the seventh annual Hi-Line Women Against Breast Cancer Golf Tournament at the Marias Valley Golf Course this weekend. It’s the seventh annual Hi-Line Women Against Breast Cancer Golf Tourney. The girls have been very busy the last five months getting ready for this year’s tournament. The golf applications were sent out to approximately 300 women and within two weeks the 40 teams were set with some new teams, some teams back after taking a break and lots of teams that have managed to be there every year. It all begins Friday evening, when John Fritz will auction off 10 caddies to the highest bidders at 8 p.m. at the Shelby Elks Club. Men if you are interested in being a caddy give Tina Wood 292-3325 or Jan Nelson 759-5497 a call, as can always use a few more good men. Saturday, the action starts bright and early at about 6 a.m. at the Marias Valley Golf and Country Club located south of Shelby. One hundred plus sponsorship signs will be put up on the tee boxes by Larry Nelson, Mark Wickum and crew. Than the bras and eggs are hidden on the course and hole games are posted on each hole with great prizes that have been donated by very gracious sponsors to be won. At 8:30 a.m., the 120 golfers are welcomed with a short program with a wonderful surprise this year that is guaranteed to have a few if not all people in tears. Than it is off to golf for the day. Photo Plus from Great Falls will be on the course during the day to photograph each team and Blue Cross/Blue Shield sponsors this. When the golfers are done, they are feed a scrumptious meal by Louise Aegerter and her crew at the Marias Valley Club House under the big white tent. While dinner is being enjoyed, there will be a live auction led by either Jim Fritz or Dena Fritz (depending on harvest we’ll see which one will do the distinguished job and if Vanna and her assistant will be in attendance!) A few items were mentioned in the first paragraph but look for a complete auction list ad in the paper of what you can bid on. Everyone is welcome to come to the dinner and/or the auction. Please feel free to join us about 4:30 if you would like to enjoy the festivities with everyone. As of this month, we have given out more than $110,000 to breast cancer patients in our surrounding area to help in a variety of ways. Gas cards seem to be the most needed right now with the gas prices so high and people traveling to Great Falls, Kalispell, and Seattle for treatments. If you know of someone who needs our help, please feel free to call Jan Nelson, 759-5497 for an application.
