Silvernale elected at FCCLA conclave
Thursday, 19 April 2007
Members of the Conrad FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) traveled to Billings recently to participate in the State Leadership Conference.
Thirteen students competed in workshops, proficiency and STAR events while at the conference.
One highlight of the conference was the election and installation of Jason Silvernale as the 2007-08 State Treasurer for the organization.
Presently, Silvernale is serving as the District I President. As a state officer, he is part of the state team that will plan next year’s conference and serve in a leadership capacity across the state. He will be representing Montana at the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Calif., in July.

Yeager dance concert pushed up to 1 p.m.
Thursday, 19 April 2007
By Buck Traxler, I-O Editor
A scheduled dance concert by Conrad native Callie Yeager, at the Orpheum Theatre-Wiegand Auditorium, has been pushed up to 1 p.m. on Saturday instead of the later time of 7:30 p.m. as originally planned.
Yeager, a senior dance major at the UofM-Missoula is producing her own professional concert as part of a senior project. She decided to premiere the show in her hometown.
The reason for moving up the dance-concert performance is that Yeager has to be back in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to be part of a try-out documentary being produced by CMT-TV.
Yeager dance concert pushed up to 1 p.m.    She was one of 700 women, from all walks of life who each spring come to Dallas in pursuit of a dream – to be a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader and has made it through the three-step process to be a semi-finalist. One of the final 100!
It is no easy task becoming a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys. Even the cheerleaders from the year before have to try out again, although they receive a bye into the finalist bracket.
The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, it is an image of an American Icon – pretty ladies decked out in the blue and white uniform cheering on Americas Team.
They are the darlings of the NFL and America’s Sweethearts.
If Yeager is selected, she will have to reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth area during her tenure as a cheerleader.
The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders with their blue and white uniforms, now in their 30th year are as strong as ever and just might be one of the most recognizable and marketable teams the world over.
The uniform itself, is a carefully guarded trademark and since the first squad was organized in 1972, there have been only six modifications. Yeager is staying with Dave and Jayne Brown, former Conrad residents who are native Texans.
