Commissioners give their nod for Seifert subdivision
Thursday, 08 December 2011 00:30

After a little discussion on Wednesday the county commissioners moved to approve preliminary plat approval for the Seifert minor subdivision.

The property is located about 11 miles northeast of Valier and 2-1/2 miles west on Bullhead Road from the Westside Frontage Road.

The subdivision will create one residential lot on what is now pasture land. It was noted that the new subdivision will not create any adverse impacts on the natural environment or area wildlife.

The commission agreed to a date for an Open House at the newly remodeled Pondera Center at 311 S. Virginia. It will be held on Dec. 2 from 4-7 p.m. in conjunction with the annual Christmas Stroll conducted by the Conrad Area Chamber of Commerce.

Garman to retire after 47 years
Wednesday, 23 November 2011 16:27
After 47 years of dedicated service to the banking industry, Alice Garman will be retiring from Stockman Bank Conrad at the end of the year.

An icon of the Bank for years, she is readily looking forward to her retirement.

As a new hire for Farmers State Bank in September 1964, Garman spent her first 22 years in the bookkeeping department.  In 1986 she moved to internal auditing and transitioned to the Escrow Department in 2001. Not quite ready to retire yet in 2008, she then moved to the front desk as a receptionist and chose to work part-time.

Obviously, much has happened at the Conrad Bank during her career, such as the bank’s name changes, Farmers State Bank to Marquette Bank and now Stockman Bank.
