County approves AWOS with the Feds

Pondera County commissioners, on Wednesday, moved to approve a memorandum of agreement between the Federal Aviation Administration (FFA) and the Pondera County/Conrad Airport.
The county agreed to continue operating and maintaining the Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS) at the Conrad Airport.
In other action at a short business meeting, developer agreement for Neighborhood Stabilization grant was approved.
Readers will recall that the commissioners had previously approved a Sub-Recipient Agreement with the Pondera Regional Port Authority for administration of the Neighborhood Stabilization grant.
It was recommended by the Montana Department of Commerce that in lieu of the Sub-Recipient agreement, the county approve a Developer Agreement (DA) with the Regional Port Authority.
The DA provides for an eight percent development fee as opposed to a five percent administration fee allowed under the Sub-Recipient agreement.
On a 2-0 vote the DA passed, subject to approval by the county attorney.
The next regular business meeting is Oct. 28, 10 a.m. in the commissioner’s office in the courthouse. The public is always invited to attend.
