Burton Gregory – Horizon Lodge resident
The board of directors of the Horizon Lodge is hosting an Open House at the Lodge on Jan. 31, from 2-4 p.m.
The purpose of this public event is to show changes that have taken place over the past year.
Due to a generous donation from Burton Gregory, a resident at the Lodge, a sizable redecorating project has been finished.
There are newly painted walls in the dining room and library that provide a restful backdrop for the framed photographs of area landmarks and scenes that now grace the walls of these two rooms.
In addition, updated furniture has been placed in the library to make it a more comfortable area for residents and visitors to meet and converse.
The front counter has been remodeled and updated, its first update since the Lodge came into existence in the early 1970s.
Gregory’s donation to the Horizon Lodge Memorial Fund as well as other donations to this fund has enabled this update to take place and directors, staff and residents of the Lodge are eager for the community to come and see the changes.
“We hope you will come, look around, visit with residents and staff and have some refreshments on Sunday,” commented Troy Shirley the Horizon Lodge manager.
