The losing woes continued for the Cowgirl volleyball squad as they dropped a pair of matches to Cut Bank and Choteau over the weekend.
Playing the Lady Wolves of Cut Bank, the scores went like this 17-25, 20-25, 16-25. Against the Choteau Bulldogs on Saturday, the scores were 13-25, 21-25, 19-25.
Facing Cut Bank in the first game, the home girls fell behind 0-7 and never could catch up. There were no ties or lead changes in either of the first two sets.
In the third game, Moranda Brenteson got a huge block at the nets, which at the time tied the score at 8-8.
But when Cut Bank got the ball back, server Ceanna Johnson dropped in an ace and helped her squad to a 4-0 and a 13-8 lead and they never looked back.
Rashelle Johns had a nice game for the Cowgirls with three aces, five kills, seven blocked shots and six digs.
Taylor Judisch also had five kill shots, Brittany Greyn dished up seven assists and Taylor Johnson put up five. Olivia Campbell had six blocked shots. Judisch also had six digs.
On the JV side, the team won their match in four games by scores of 23-25, 25-14, 15-13, 13-15, 15-9.
Judisch served up nine aces and Brenteson three. Ciara Bender and Brenteson each banged back nine kill shots. Brenteson had 13 blocks at the line.
Kristen Warlick put up 10 assists and Justine Desjardine seven. Judisch and Megan Fetters each had five digs.
The C squad lost their match in four games by scores of 18-25, 25-15, 12-15, 15-17.
Morgan VanDyke put over seven aces and she and Lacey Jones each had three kills. Hayley Orcutt had seven assists, Jones had five blocked shots and Taryn Erickson six digs.
The Lady ‘Dawgs got the Cowgirls in a hole early in their opening match that they couldn’t climb out of and they fell 25-13.
Over the next two games, Conrad actually played better than Choteau, but were behind too far in both games to be able to come back for a win.
Johnson knocked down a pair of aces and had six assists in the contest. Judisch slapped back 10 kill shots. Johns had four, Greyn put up 12 assists.
Of the 19 blocks, Johns put back seven and Campbell five. She also had six digs while Kelli Fagan had four.
On the JV side, the team lost their match in four games by scores of 18-25, 25-15, 3-15, 6-15.
Brenteson put over three aces. Judisch ripped back 12 kills while Bender had four. Warlick had nine assists and Desjardine four
Bender also led the way with blocked shots, having seven. Jessica Stenson had four digs.
The C-squad dropped their match in four games by scores of 16-25, 25-22, 14-16, 12-15.
VanDyke had four aces. Makayla Barringer and Jayde Richardson each had five kill shots. Orcutt put up 13 assists, Jones blocked five shots and Alicia Fladstol and Barringer each had three digs.
Conrad has two road games, Sept. 18 in Fairfield and then they go to Choteau on Sept. 23. They are back at home on Sept. 24 with Rocky Boy coming in for a visit.
