The Guns and Gals Trap League ended with a bang Thursday night, after four weeks of shooting at the Pondera Shooting Sports Club in Conrad.
Women came from Conrad, Great Falls, Choteau, Dupuyer and Valier to take part in the event, organized by Diane Boyd of Conrad.
Some of the women had never shot a gun before, but no one left without “breaking a bird.” The league ended with a game called “Custer’s Last Stand” with Leona Huidekoper of Choteau emerging as the winner.
Discussion is already underway for another league next spring, so if you’re interested, watch for details in the I-O.
