Plans are in the works to open a new storefront, Creative Addictions, at the former Super Dollar Store at 412 S. Main on Dec. 4, at 5 p.m.

The new business, opening just in time for the Christmas Stroll, will be run by Melody Campbell and Kit Finlayson.

Campbell tells the I-O, “There’s no way I could do something like this alone, I have the opportunity to team up with Kit (of Conrad), who will be my partner in this adventure.”

Campbell goes on to add, “She’s a wonderfully talented and gifted artist in her own right. One of her many specialties is jewelry making.

I’m very excited about adding this dimension to our creative offerings.”

“We will have much more than our signature Fuzzie-Wuzzie wool, we will also have other wool of various colors and weights which will be perfect for socks, purses, scarves, and a lot more.”

Finlayson commented, “Not only will we have wool but we will have many other items to fulfill your creative addiction. Scrap-booking materials, card making, jewelry making, are just a few of the things we have planned to start with.”

She went on to say, “More creative projects and material will be added as we go. We are planning on several exciting pre-holiday workshops - perfect for lovingly hand-made gifts.”

Also at the opening, they will be offering family Christmas photos. They will take the picture and you make the card. Check this out.

Or while at the shop you can make a “bead-utiful” bracelet. Another Christmas present done, how’s that for simple?

Are you a scrapbookie?  If so, you will want to on their list for the weekly “Hostess Club” which will be weekly crops with specific new designs. Sign up as a regular and take your turn at earning hostess gifts.

Another exciting opportunity is that the two businesswomen plan to have at least one evening a week and Saturdays available for people to come in with their own projects, or start a new one.

All the supplies will be right there. “Sit with other creative junkies and finish those projects with help and lots of conversation,” says Finlayson.

In anticipation of the store opening Campbell has ordered a large shipment of Fuzzie-Wuzzie wool.

If you’re getting low on your winter supply then bundle up and come into the store - first come, first serve on the color choices.

“I am looking forward to seeing familiar faces and getting to  meet some of you who have done business with my sister, Lesa, when she owned the business,” said Campbell.

The new business will also be offering workshops. Visit their website on the Internet at for further information.
