The Conrad fast pitch softball team finally got on the field and hosted the Lady Wolves of Cut Bank in a Monday game.
The Cowgirls suffered a 3-6 loss in their home opener.
Cut Bank took the early 0-1 lead off starting pitcher Rashelle Jones and it lasted until the bottom of the second when the home ladies went on top 2-1.
Kelli Fagan got the rally going in the bottom of the inning when she smoked a single to center. Devon Rauscher also followed with a single.
With Fagan being a catcher, a runner was allowed to come in for her, so she could get back in her catcher gear.
The two Cowgirl runners made their way to second and third and scored off a double to left by Erica Grubb, giving Conrad the 2-1.
They held that lead for an inning, and then the Wolves went back on top 2-3. Cut Bank went on to add single insurance runs on each of the last three innings for the win.
Johns took the loss. Kara Bandow came in to relieve her in the fifth inning.
Morgan Fowler, Shanae Newmiller, Brittany Greyn, Johns, Bandow, Fagan and Rauscher all had safeties and Grubb a double and two RBIs.
The team was at home on Tuesday with Shelby coming in. Over the weekend, they were at Columbus for an invitational tournament.
