As a new special for the I-O we will be running a bi-monthly ‘Spotlight on Business’ with an emphasis on their contributions to our community and their history.

Having been around nearly 34 years, Country Charm Floral and Gifts is a mainstay in our community. Originally started in a basement, Lynn Ostrom and Iva Keister gave ceramic making classes that at one point, catered to 100 students five times a week.

Their creations led to sales at an annual Christmas show. With the result a success, Country Charm was opened in the Pondera Village Shopping Center for two years before it moved to its current location at 407 S. Main St.

The classes continued and Sue Kovatch joined the business. Kovatch helped the store by adding floral arrangements to their services. In 1982, however, Ostrom became the sole owner.

Ceramics continued to be poured and fired for a total of 10 years within Country Charm.

Ostrom gives recognition to many friends and family members who helped get the business going. Her daughters grew up helping in any way they could. Currently, she has one part-time employee, Sheri Matheson, along with others that help during the busy seasons, especially prom and Valentine’s Day.

Ostrom is a life-long resident of Conrad and participates throughout the year with events such as the Christmas Stroll.

Country Charm offers quality bouquets, one of a kind gifts and home décor. They have added a new clothing line in sizes from baby to 3T. Their Mud Pie clothing makes a great baby shower gift, birthday or Easter present with its unique and adorable designs.
