Swim team second at first meet of the summer

Conrad swimmers turned in a good meet for their first outing of the pool season, taking second place at Shelby over the weekend.

Junior swimmer Hunter Mycke highlighted the meet for Conrad by taking High Point honors, getting three first places.

Mycke swan to first places in the 50 free, 100 free, and 50 fly.

Team scores and places went like this: 1. Shelby 1,094, 2. Conrad 632, 3. Cut Bank 600, 4. Bitterroot 581, 5. Columbia Falls 387, 6. Chester 281, 7. Fairfield 269, 8. Choteau 215, 9. Cut Bank 72, 10. Sunburst 50,  and 11. Chinook 18.

Following are the individual results for swimmers in the different divisions:



Riley Yeager-10th 25 free, 4th 50 free, 9th 50 back; Roper Mycke-10th 25 free, 5th 50 free, 4th 50 back; Brady Barnhill-5th 25 free, 6th 50 back, 2nd 25 fly; Jalynn Krause-6th 25 free, 4th 50 free, 5th 25 back; Riley Larson-10th 50 free, 8th 25 back; Morgan Skinner-8th 50 free, 4th 25 back; Elizabeth Ringdahl-11th 50 free; and Cash Mycke-9th 50 free.

In the Boys’ 100-free relay, Yeager, C. Mycke, Barnhill and R. Mycke placed third. At the Girls’ 100-free relay, Larson, Skinner, Ringdahl and Krause placed 2nd.


Dania Jones-2nd 100 IM, 2nd 50 free, 1st 100 free; Brooke Mycke-3rd 100 IM, 9th 50 free, 5th 50 breast; Blake Larson-3rd 50 free, 3rd 100 free, 2nd 50 back; Ronnie Barnhill-7th 50 free, 4th 100 free, 3rd 50 back; Jessica Kinamon-4th 50 free, 2nd 100 free, 8th 50 back; Naomi Yeager-11th 50 breast, 6th 100 free.

At the Girls’ 100-yard free relay, Mycke, Kinamon, Yeager and Jones placed 2nd. In the 100-yard Medley relay, the same team placed first.

In the Girls’ 200-free relay, Erickson, Johnson, Kinamon, and Russell placed first. In the 200-medley relay, Johnson, Jones, Erickson and Kinamon placed second.

At the Boys’ 200-medley, the team of B. Larson, P. Larson, Mycke and Barnhill took second and the same team was third in the 200-free relay.


Kyleigh Salois-5th 200 IM, 6th 100 breast, 4th 50 fly; Hailey Yeager-7th 50 free, 8th 100 breast, 10th 100 free.


Makayla Barringer-2nd 200 IM; Taryn Eickson-2nd 100 breast, 5th 100 back, 1st 50 fly.

The Girls’ 200-free relay team of Erickson, Yeager, Salois, and Barringer placed third and the 200- Medley relay Russell, Erikson, Salois and Yeager came in second.

This weekend swimmers will start coming into Conrad on Friday for a two-day swim meet on Saturday and Sunday.

Drivers are reminded that one block of 6th Ave. S. on the north side of the pool will be closed between Virginia and Maryland for the meet.

If you are driving around the pool area over the weekend, please drive with caution, there will be a lot of young swimmers moving about.
