Conrad places fourth at home swim meet

Conrad saw 290 swimmers invade the city over the weekend for a huge swim meet.

The local team had 33 swimmers participate in the meet.

Highlighting the meet for Conrad was midget swimmer Dania Jones and junior swimmer Hunter Mycke who both took high point honors.

For Mycke, it was the second week in a row he has captured the honor.

Team scores and places went like this:

Bitterroot 900, 2. Shelby 562, 3. Columbia Falls 552, 4. Conrad 475, 5. Cut Bank 462, 6. Fort Benton 296, 7. Fairfield 278, 8. Chester 260, 9. Choteau 191, 10. Sunburst 30, 11. Glasgow 16 (with one swimmer). Chinook participated with two swimmers.


Following are the individual places in events of our swimmers.



Brady Barnhill 3rd-25 free, 4th-25 back; Roper Mycke 11th-25 free, 8th-50 free, 6th-25 back, Riley Yeager 9th-25 free, 12-th50 free; Jaylynn Krause 3rd-25 free, 2nd-50 free, 7th-25 back; Nyssa Welker 9th-25 free, 5th-50 free, 5th-25 back; Morgan Skinner 8th-25 free, 7th-50 free, 9th-25 back, Elizabeth Ringdahl 12th-50 free; Sheridan Richter 9th-50 free, 8th-25 back; Audrey Taylor 10th-25 back.

In the boys’ 100 free relay. Yeager, Brayden Stordahl, Cash Mycke and Barnhill placed fifth. In the girls’ A 100 free relay, Ringdahl, Skinner, Richter and Kruse placed second. The B team of Makaela Welker, Audrey Taylor, Payton Vermulm and N. Welker placed fifth.


Dania Jones 1st-100IM, 1st-100 free, 2nd-50 free; Brooke Mycke 5th-100IM,  6th-50 breast; Ronnie Barnhill 7th-50 free, 5th-100 free, 3rd-50 back; Jessica Kinamon 9th-50 free, 6th-100 free, 10th-50 back; Naomi Yeager 9th-100 free.

In the girls’ 100 free relay Kinamon, Mycke, Yeager, and Jones placed second. At the 100 medley relay, Kinamon, Mycke, Jones and Yeager swan to a first place.


Nicole Erickson 5th-200IM, 6th-50 free, 4th-100 free, Andrea Russell 2nd-200IM, 5th-50 back, 3rd-50 fly; Hunter Mycke 1st-50 free, 1st-100 free, 1st-50 fly; Sheridan Johnson 8th-50 free, 8th-10th50 breast, 7th-50 back; Ivy Kinamon 9th-50 free, 8th-100 free, 12th-50 back; Raylynn Jones 6th-50 breast, 6th-1—free, 6th-50 back.

In the boys’ 200 free relay, Barnhill, R. Mycke, Parker Larson, and H. Mycke took fourth; in the 200 medley relay the same team placed third.

For the girls’ 200 free relay, Russell, Kinamon, Jones and Erickson were in third place and in the girls’ 200 medley relay, Johnson, Jones, Russell, and Erickson placed first.


Kyleigh Salois 4th-200IM, 6th-60 fly, 2nd-100 fly.


Skylar Shirley 3rd-200IM; Kelci Watterud 4th-200IM, 6th-50 fly; Jayde Richardson 1st-100 breast, 2nd-100 free, 2nd-400 free; Taryn Erickson 4th-100 breast, 3rd-100 back, 1st-50 fly.

At the girls’ 200 free relay, the team of Shirley, Watterud, Erickson, and Richardson placed fourth. In the 200 medley relay, Erickson, Richardson, Salois, and Watterud took third.

Next up for the swimmers is a meet this weekend in Cut Bank.
