As a special for the I-O we will be running a bi-monthly ‘Spotlight on Business’ with an emphasis on their contributions to our community and their history.

After it sat dormant for five years, Randy and Anne Stordahl bought the building at 706 S. Delaware. The two worked diligently to completely renovate the building and turn half of it into A Shear Happiness beauty salon and the other half into Tiny Tots Daycare which is run by Rose Griggs.

Anne commented that she forsaw that Conrad was going to be the place where they raised their family and she had already been doing hair for 10 years. She decided to invest in property and the rest is history.

All their hard work has paid off and five years later, the salon has seen its second face lift. A crisp, clean and welcoming atmosphere awaits you as well as the best quality of professional services and products available. A Shear Happiness offers haircuts, color, perms, pedicures, manicures, acrylic and gel nails and eyebrow waxing.

Anne comments, “I have had to work hard to build the trust of Conrad locals. I was a ‘nobody’ when I moved here and opened this business.” She continued by saying, “you can’t judge a book by its cover because what you see on the outside of our building doesn’t really reflect the beauty that is within.”

Anne is joined by Lyndsie Denzer, who has been with her since the day the salon opened, Jennifer Hruska, who joined the team in December 2008 and they have recently added Wendy Martin to their crew. Anne says, “They are awesome booth renters and we are a good mix. We work together as a great team.”

The girls at A Shear Happiness try to support the community in any way they can through time or monetary donations for events or wherever there is a need. The girls are currently promoting the Annual Benefit Co-ed Softball Tournament to be held July 11 and the salon is also a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

You can reach A Shear Happiness by stopping in or by calling 271-2689.
