Head cook resigns from school

The Conrad School Board approved the hiring of Michelle Goyette as the new half-time kindergarten teacher at Meadowlark. The board also accepted the resignation of District Head Cook Doris Clifton.

Andre Harris was hired as the new assistant Utterback Middle School football coach. Mollee Gemar has resigned as the seventh grade girls’ basketball coach and as the 6-8 grade head boys’ and girls’ track coach.

The board will discuss the 2011-2012 school year final budget at the next regular meeting on Aug. 9. Teachers and board members have agreed to a one year contract and no raises for teachers.

 

Craig Barringer, superintendent of schools, and board member Carole Jones were approved for professional leave to the Data Quality Campaign Conference in Los Angeles on Aug. 3 and 4.

 

Ken Larson, Conrad High School principal, along with representatives from CHS, gave a presentation on a ‘Ghost Out’ they would like to host during Red Ribbon Week in October. This is a national program that deals with drug and alcohol prevention.

The district will receive 34 percent fewer funds for Title One and Title II, part A this year. Janie McFarland was appointed as the district’s Title IX director.

Conrad students will be enjoying a night at the Great Falls Voyagers game on Aug. 8.

The next regular school board meeting is tentatively scheduled for Aug. 9 at 7 p.m. in the Russell Building conference room. The Russell Building is not handicapped accessible. You may request the meeting be moved to the UMS library by calling 278-5521 prior to the time of the next meeting.
