The Mechanical Bull–a–Rama, once again, promises to bring great fun and entertainment for participants and spectators alike. This event begins at 1 p.m. on July 30 at the WHOA arena in Valier.
The event supports two great causes, local rodeo participants as well as the local food pantry. The event is open to all ages and all skill levels (from ‘never rode before’ to real bull riders). The bull is manually operated according to skill level.
The team competition consists of a four person team with each person riding three times. Each ride will be scored. All team member scores will be averaged with the highest scoring team being the champions. The team champions are awarded the traveling team trophy, payout and above all bragging rights.
Last year’s event was very successful. There were over 40 riders and seven teams. Last year’s youngest rider was five and the oldest rider was 50 plus. Last year the woman’s team won the traveling trophy and bragging rights. We will see if they can hang on to trophy. Get your team together and enter up to win. There will be adult and junior team competition as well as individual riding.
Like last year, the concessions will go to support local youth rodeo and the gate admission will be donated to the local food pantry. You may pay for admission or bring a can of food to donate.
This year’s sponsors include the WHOA Arena – Valier, Wilbur Ellis, JV Inc. of Valier, Mountain Front Lodge of Valier, Joe Russell Trucking of Conrad, Cool Guy Gear of Helena, One Stop Cenex of Valier, Peterson Quarter Horses and Trucking of Valier, Devoe’s Builders Service of Valier.
