Buck Traxler has been a household name in Conrad for over 25 years and now the man behind our weekly paper is in need of his community. Traxler will undergo a triple bi-pass surgery on Sept. 21.

On Oct. 2, the Independent-Observer, the Pondera Golf Club and other businesses are teaming up to host a four-person golf scramble that includes lunch and dinner as well as an open invitation dinner that evening. Custom Crop Care will be sponsoring the lunch which is provided to the golfers at no extra cost.

Dinner will be presented to the public and the golfers for a small charge and free-will donations. A bucket raffle will be set up which will include such items as a two night stay at the Super 8 in Conrad, a hunting package from Mountain View Co-op, a will writing package for two worth $700 from the Gianarelli Law Office and so much more. There will also be 50/50 tickets being sold and music will be provided by a DJ.
