PTA sets rate for membership

By Deanna Wakkinen, I-O Reporter

The Conrad PTA met on Sept. 26 and introduced the board as Tiffany Lyons, president, Christine Larson, vice president, Shirliene Faull as secretary and Amanda Younce as treasurer.

The price for membership was set and ways to begin fund raising were discussed. Different ideas discussed were raffling an afghan, a children’s art auction, PTA dinner nights at local restaurants and various bake sales.

The money raised would then be used for various ideas which included school dances, items for the schools such as security systems, playground equipment, after school programs and teacher incentives.

Other ideas brought before the board were salad bar availability for all students, snack revision at Meadowlark Elementary School and specific playground requests for Prairie View.

A PTA board meeting was held on Oct. 3 and the next public general meeting will be on the second Monday of the month, which is Oct. 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the Prairie View library.

All are invited and welcome to attend whether their child attends school or not.
