Clinical nursing agreement with MSU approved

Leading into the holiday break, the county commissioners had a light schedule on Wednesday.

On a motion by Commissioner Sandy Broesder and a second by Joe Christiaens, the commission approved on a 3-0 vote a Clinical Student Nursing agreement with MSU-Bozeman.

Under the agreement, students in the MSU nursing program can work with the Pondera County Health Department to gain clinical experience.

The county has no financial obligation under this agreement.

Commissioners also approved an agreement with Variable Annuity Life Insurance Co. (VALIC).

The agreement brings the county’s VALIC agreement allowing employees to participate in a retirement plan into compliance with recent federal tax legislation. The measure passed on a 3-0 vote.

In other business, the commissioners approved the short term rental agreement for the Pondera Center and sold 140 square feet of used insulation that had been declared surplus property to Pat Becker for $75.

Commissioners meet every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in their office to conduct county business.

The public is always welcome and encouraged to attend to see their government at work.
