United Grain Corporation has begun development of a modern 110 car shuttle station just south of Conrad off Pendroy Road.

Vice president of business development, Tony Flagg, tells the I-O it will be a highly efficient grain station and they are “looking forward to making strong relationships with local growers” and to coming up with a “mutually beneficial agreement”. Flagg also says that this opportunity will allow for better prices.

The facility is set to be completed in spring of 2013 and will be operational by harvest 2013. It will host 1,000,000 bushels of storage and will ship grain mostly to their facility in Vancouver, Wash. for export. United Grain Corporation says they have been ranked in the top two spots for exporting in past years.
