The Elks provides aid to small Montana Critical Access Hospitals in the form of a once a year monetary donation.
The criterion to receive this award is to apply to the Elks in the form of a letter stating the needs to purchase equipment to initially diagnosis and stabilize patients who come into the hospital.
With the recent addition of paramedics to PMC Emergency Department and Ambulance Crew additional equipment was needed.
The award money will be used to purchase new pulse oximeters, stethoscopes, vacuum splint kits and Oxy-peep ventilating systems.
Pondera Medical Center’s CEO, Mark Jones stated without the help of programs like this small hospitals simply would not have the means to purchase a lot of this much needed equipment.
Sherry Cullen, representing the Elks, presented the donation to the PMC.
