Laurie Eisenzimer, age 52, has filed on the Republican ticket to run for the Pondera County Clerk of District Court.
She was born and raised in Helena, graduating from Capital High School.
Following her graduation, Eisenzimer trained and qualified as a certified driver licensing examiner as well as a certified commercial driver licensing examiner.
Many people will recall her for serving as a driver license examiner in Conrad, a position she held for 23 years.
She has also completed educational training in fraudulent document training, identity document training, as well as cultural sensitivity training and customer service trainings.
Eisenzimer is currently a Title Officer with First American Title Company in Conrad, a position she has been at for the past 17 months.
She serves on the board of directors of the Conrad Area Chamber of Commerce, is a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, the Pondera Ladies Golf League, Women of the Moose and East Slope Back Country Horsemen.
Eisenzimer received top honors in her former position when she was named the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, Montana Examiner of the Year, “I was nominated and voted for this by my peers and supervisors,” she said.
One of her favorite leisure activities is golfing at the PGC and in league. She adds, “I enjoy rodeos, camping, skiing-both water and snow and when I get the chance I love to read.”
Of all the books she has curled up to read, Sea Biscuit ranks at the top of her list and probably her number one movie is Phar Lap, with Old Yeller a close second.
“I love Grizzly football and I get a lot of pleasure watching the Cowboys and Cowgirls compete, as well as rides with the East Slope Back Country Horsemen.”
Except for running for the CofC board of directors, this would be her first time running for public elected office.
Asked what qualifications she has that will make her an effective public office holder, Eisenzimer says, “I have 23 years office management experience as well as 23 years experience of working with and serving the citizens of Pondera, Toole, Teton and Glacier counties.”
Eisenzimer also noted that she has worked effectively with county officials, employees, attorneys and law enforcement in Pondera, Toole, Teton and Glacier counties.
“In my current position I have been working with the Clerk of Courts office, and in doing so I feel I have gained knowledge and a better understanding of the services they provide. I would like to see sincere, friendly, professional and courteous customer service in the Pondera County Clerk of Court’s office and I believe I am the person to do that.”
She went on to add, “The citizens of Pondera County should expect more. They deserve to be served with a friendly smile and professionalism. I feel I would truly be an asset to Pondera County citizens.”
Eisenzimer tells the I-O, “I will serve all residents with courtesy, integrity, and respect. I look forward to serving the citizens of Pondera County to the best of my abilities.”
Eisenzimer has two sons, Tyler and Ryan, both graduates of Conrad High School and two dogs, Deuce and Maggie.
