Shari Gianarelli opened the doors to her law office back in March of 2000 after completely remodeling and turning half of the building into office rentals for counseling. Now, 12 years later, the need came to expand so the wall between the two spaces was removed.
Gianarelli and her associates are happy to now showcase a new conference room, office and a trial preparation/reenactment room.
Working alongside the attorney is Rose Johns, a paralegal, who has been with the firm since nearly the beginning. The team was joined by Amber Schoenrock, legal secretary, two years ago and more recently by Silva Kalbas.
Gianarelli is originally from Minot, N.D. and graduated from law school in 1994 at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. She was the Clerk of the North Dakota Supreme Court for one year and worked in Minot for three more years before coming to Montana to work under Kyle and Christensen in Conrad. She worked there for just under a year before taking her Montana State Bar Exam in 1999.
Since then she has remained a member to the State Bar of Montana and is also featured in their family law section. She is also included in a local group of attorneys as part of the Ninth Judicial District Bar Association. She is on the board for the Montana Mediation Association and has been the city attorney for both Valier and Conrad in the past.
Gianarelli continues her legal education regularly and more recently attended the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College.
The Gianarelli Law Office provides general legal services including family law, which Gianarelli says is not just divorce but all aspects including estate planning and probate. They also handle real estate transactions, business set up, litigation, and criminal defense including public and privately appointed.
Gianarelli Law is a member of the Conrad Area Chamber of Commerce and Gianarelli herself is a past board member. Gianarelli also participates in the community with her work in organizations such as the Conrad Community Education Foundation, in which she was a founding member, and CASA, where she was a founding board member but has since found that it can be a conflict of interest as she can sometimes be a representative for the families involved.
She continues to be involved with Hi-Line Help for Abused Spouses and provides pro bono work for victims. In the past she also provided free tax return help as part of the Volunteer Income Tax Association.
The Gianarelli Law Office contributes to the community by offering internships, career shadowing and by employing Conrad High School students.
